![]() Mounted about forty foot ASL, with only one building in my line of sight, the Watson has proven to be a most excellent choice with this set. ![]() I also had decided to purchase a new scanner soley for marine VHF and had been impressed with the 295 - I bought another!Ĭoupling this to a Watson W-881 super gainer, I am easily able to hear ops on the decks of the offshore platforms in the Irish Sea, rig support ships, windfarm traffic, Liverpool VTS and Coastguard / Lifeboat ops. I moved to the coast last year and the scanner proved more sensitive than the 282 on marine VHF. The set has been no problem since its purchase in 2010 - and it gets about, believe me! ![]() Discarding the stock antenna of the 295, I replaced it with a Watson W-901 airband antenna - which was a great choice for this particular model. ![]() My first 295 was bought to enable me to listen nin to Mil UHF whilst the other set (a PSR-282 ) burbled away on civil airband. ![]()
